Have you ever wondered how many blog posts it takes to become successful as a blogger?
In this blog post, I’m sharing my own experiences with blogging and how many posts it took me to reach different income levels.

I’ve had three blogs, each with around 100 blog posts.
Blog #1: $50/month
One of them made around $50 per month.
Blog #2: $90-120/month
Another made between $90-120 per month (depending on the season).
Blog #3: $1,000-2,000/month
The third made between $1,000-2,000 per month (also depending on the season). In total, that third blog earned me around $30,000 in its lifetime with just 100 posts.
However, it’s important to note that you can’t just write 100 blog posts and expect to earn $1,000 per month.
Your success as a blogger depends on two factors:
Factor #1: Competition
- The level of competition in your niche
Factor #2: Quality of Content
- The quality of your topical research and content.
If you do thorough research on what people really want to learn about and provide excellent, unique content, you may be able to succeed with as few as 20-30 blog posts.
On the other hand, if you’re in a highly competitive niche like finance, crypto, health, or fitness, you may need 200-500 blog posts to succeed.
As for reaching “income replacement level” (a term that means different things in different countries, but for the purposes of this video, we’ll define it as around $3,000 per month), it’s possible to achieve this with as few as 100 well-researched and high-quality blog posts.
However, some blogs may require more posts to reach this level, potentially up to 1000 posts.
Proven Courses and Guidelines
By following a proven course or guideline, like those mentioned in this video (my course, Project 24, Passive Income, Passive Income Unlocked, and Passive Income Geek), you may be able to reach income replacement level much faster than the 1000-post mark.
It’s worth noting that the number of blog posts you need to succeed also depends on how you define success. Some bloggers are happy with a small side income, while others want to reach full-time income levels. The key is to set clear goals for yourself and work towards them consistently.
In addition to the number of posts, there are a few other factors that can affect your success as a blogger:
Factor #3: Consistency
- Consistency is important in blogging. If you can consistently produce high-quality content on a regular basis, you’ll be more likely to attract and retain a loyal audience.
Factor #4: Niche
- Choose a niche that you are passionate about and that has a good level of demand. If you love what you’re writing about, it will be easier to stay motivated and produce great content. And if there is a demand for the type of content you’re creating, you’ll be more likely to attract a large audience.
Factor #5: Promoting Your Blog
- Don’t underestimate the importance of promoting your blog. There are many ways to promote your blog, such as through social media, guest posting, and SEO. The more visibility you can give your blog, the more likely it is to succeed.
Conclusion
In conclusion, there is no hard and fast rule for how many blog posts it takes to succeed as a blogger. It depends on a variety of factors, including the competition in your niche, the quality of your content, your consistency, the demand for your niche, and your promotion efforts.
That being said, it’s possible to achieve success with as few as 20-30 well-researched and high-quality blog posts in a less competitive niche. In more competitive niches, you may need 200-500 posts or more to reach your goals.
Ultimately, the key is to set clear goals for yourself, consistently produce high-quality content, and promote your blog effectively. With the right combination of these factors, you can achieve success as a blogger no matter how many blog posts it takes.
